Hi Cathy, the Litter-Robot ($329 with free shipping) does the scooping for you automatically and deposits the waste in a large drawer below the unit. Clean is simple as removing a kitchen bag liner from the drawer. Contact with litter is greatly minimized. Litter Robot also works well with multiple cats cleaning after each use. You can get more details on our web site www.litter-robot.com and/or check out some of the testimonials on the blog. Thanks, Brad

Stopping by the site to order our second Litter-Robot. The first one is still going strong after 3 years of hard labor....it serves a group of 5 foster cats in my home. When they have playgroup, there may be as many as 7-8 cats in their indoor/outdoor room. (We do keep another traditional litterbox in case the LR is 'occupied.') This new unit is for my 'own' two cats and three long-term fosters--fast becoming 'mine!'
Having Litter-Robot means I don't dread going in to spend time with the foster cats anymore. Before, it was a huge effort to keep the litterboxes scooped & cleaned. Now, I just change the bag daily or every other day, depending on the usage. The time I used to spend crouching & scooping, I now spend thinking up fun things to do with the cats.
When we first got the LR, the foster cats would all cluster around to watch it working, and one learned to jump on the step and wait 7 minutes for it to run! Now they ignore it, unless they want to use it...
Here is a suggestion: consider a fundraising program for cat rescue groups with 'community rooms' for cats, where they can use Litter-Robot. They would be amazed how much improvement having a Litter-Robot (or 2 or more!) could mean in their shelter. Volunteers would be freed to interact with the cats, and the 'Robot would always be clean, even when the cats are unattended (usually overnights). Your company would benefit from the many cat-friendly adoptive parents who would see Litter-Robot on their shelter visit, and get information about how much their new cat enjoys it. Just a thought....and if you need a 'rep' in the rescue world, sign me up!
Thanks for the help with my foster/rescue effort...Donna B., Wilmington, NC

I gotta try this. I have 3 cats and one of them, the newest and youngest at ca. 5 yrs absolutely refuses to use a covered box and thus does not use the Robot which the other two have for over three years with no problem and they are both much older. I have one box in each bathroom. Unfortunately there is no electrical outlet where the regular box is and there is not enough room for two boxes in the other one without crowding the human users of the bathrooom. So I have put half of a cardbox box around the regular box today, it covers about half of the "sky" that Ralphy seems to need. If he goes for that I'll cover more and more of it and hope that eventually he'll get used to "no sky". Then I'll move that box to where the Robot is which will make it a tight squeeze for the human users of the bathroom. If that works the next step will be what you did. I know this will take weeks. But if it works it will be worth it. I'll keep you posted.

My cats love the litter robot. Okay - maybe that's not true. I've never asked them. I LOVE THE LITTER ROBOT. Yeah, that's more like it. But my cats took to it right away. The young un' (a 1 year old) likes to watch it turn. She'll even trigger it to turn again. I don't mind. The 12 year old looked skeptical, then got in it. Fortunately, we had the lip extender on it - she pee'd on that. After 4 months, she's taken to it like a charm. She's a small cat, but definitely uses the the bubble window globe in the back. The kitten loves to flick cat litter like she's digging a hole to China. Just ordered the gate to see if that might help. BEST PRODUCT OF IT's KIND! Thanks Litter robot makers. And keep making this product in the good ol' USofA

Hi Pauline:
Recently we have had quite a few inquiries RE how loud the Litter-Robot is. As you can imagine, noise is always subjective; however, our latest version of the Litter-Robot has a quieter motor and our customers have attested to this in their Testimonials. Check them out.
As a comparison, we would suggest an electric drill running at the lowest speed. What I can tell you is that some of our customers have the Litter-Robot in their bedroom.
FYI - there are no electronics in the globe at all - everything is in the base.
Hope this helps you. If you ever have a question/concern, drop us a note at customer_service@litter-robot.com. Thank You !
