We recently purchased the litter robot for our two cats and are very pleased with it so far. We have gone through two litter maids machines and experienced all kinds of problems with their product.

The cats took about two weeks to get use to the new litter box. They were a little afraid at first and were not used to a covered litter box. We keep the old litter box next to the Litter robot and did follow the instructions to turn off the motor and put a cardboard box over it for awhile. During this transition period, we also learned that one of our cats has diabetes and that may have slowed him in trying the new box since he wasn’t feeling well.

Anyway, both cats only use the Litter Robot. It works wonderful. The smell isn’t there anymore, which is great since the litter box is in our office. Disposing the old litter is so easy too, we use a standard garbage bag instead of the expensive plastic ones. There is less of a litter mess and can use the litter the cats were used too.
