It took a week or so for one of my cats to get acclimated, but the other took to it immediately. Fortunately we caught the hesitant one starting to urinate in a corner, and picked him up and stuffed him the Litter Robot. From that day forward he used it without issue.

For those who think this device is loud, I’d have to say you’ve never owned a Littermaid. Even in the echo chamber that is my laundry room where mine lives, the Litter Robot gives off no more than a pleasant hum from the other room, and its not the least bit intrusive.

With two full-grown (5 yr old, about 12lbs) cats, I empty the bag about once every 5-7 days. I’d venture to say I could probably get 10 days out of it, but if you push the envelope, sometimes a few lumps will spill out. The tray could perhaps stand to have a front bar with a clip to go with the back and sides. This isn’t an issue if you keep a reasonably close eye on the contents once in a while.

I’ve only had it a couple of months, so I can’t really speak to the longevity, but I’ve had no jams or clogs, really no incidents of any kind. It just works quietly and perfectly, and I would highly recommend this device to anybody who travels for several days at a time, or just doesn’t want to do litter maintenance every other day. 

The true test will be the long haul, so I hope it continues to operate as flawlessly as it has to this point.
