I am in love with my litter box! We purchased out litter box three years ago and it has worked perfectly every day 365 days a year! Both of our cats are very choosy about their boxes and if the box is slightly dirty the cats wont use them. The Litter Robot keeps the litter clean keeping the cats happy and keeping me happy. With out two cats we have to empty the drawer once a week, they say you should empty it more but ours don’t need it. We recycle plastic grocery bags in the catch bin, they are a tad too small but work fine. I also enjoy the fact that our dogs can’t get into the litter box and help themselves to “the kitty buffet” no one likes kitty poo kisses! I would purchase another in a heart beat! The box seems expensive but for the convenience of not cleaning the litter box multiple times a day and the hardiness of the box I suggest it for every one.

Have a number of rescued cats (& 2 dogs). Bought Litter – Robot several yrs ago & cats love it. Only problem was litter splatter outside opening. Recently added lip extender/fence combo and that problem stopped. A great idea, no litter outside box now. Also added ramp, cats love that too. Recently began using Dr Elsey’s Senior Litter; makes world of difference. No clumps, BMs dry quickly and drop into collection drawer. Supposed to be less chance of bladder infections. Thinking of purchasing second unit soon.

This is the best money I ever spent on my cats. No more smell, no more scooping, no more dogs getting into the litterbox. Our biggest problem with it is remembering to change the bag. Definitely the best product on the market.

Max only uses the litter box if it is perfectly clean – August 3, 2009

I just wanted to send a little note of thank you from my whole family.

We have 2 cats: Buddy will use the litter box every time, no matter how messy. Max who is a Prima Donna, he will only use the box if it is perfectly clean, otherwise he uses the carpet. It had gotten to the point that my husband told me Max would have to go if I couldn’t find an answer.

Unfortunately I work 12 hour shifts, so being there to clean the box after every single use was not an option. No matter how clean the box was when I left for work it would be used by Buddy then rejected by Max long before I got home.

We even came to a pseudo compromise, I put a tarp and a throw rug down where Max liked and washed it off every night. This just resulted in flies and is not recommended.

I had to find an answer, but all the automatic boxes I researched had breakdown problems. Then I found your site. I thought the cost was prohibitive, but after some more research I thought it was my best option.

I got it home, unboxed it (quite large) and set it up. I showed it to both cats and Max used it immediately.

Then it cycled.

Both Max and Buddy freaked, rejected the new box, and I was sad. I left the old box (and rug) set up for a while, not cleaning it (ok, well, I cleaned the rug.)

After a few more days I turned off the Litter Robot, it had been cycling regularly due to the cats investigating, but it had not been used. After a few more days they were using it regularly and stood next to me when I turned it on to cycle, so I left it on. A few more days of trepidation and finally success!! Both cats are using the box, with it on, and the rug is clean!

Thank you for such an amazing product – especially from Max who now gets to stay!
