Honoring Don Phillips

I will be honoring my father, Don Phillips, on Memorial Day.  He served during WWII in the Army Core of Engineers.  He was pulled from MIT half way through his college training to serve as an Engineer.  He was stationed in the Pacific and finished his WWII time in Japan during the reconstruction.  Although he never saw fighting on the front he still recalls the loss of many fellow soldiers and is still changed to this day.  He continued in the reserves and retired a Lt. Colonel.  My father later graduated from MIT and went on with his life including being strong and loving husband and father of four.  All of us are honored to know him and love him dearly.  I will remember my father this Memorial Day and will be talking to him and telling him as well if God wills.
My father is the proud owner of new shelter kitty who entertains him hourly with her antics.

I am in Love With My Litter Box!

I am in love with my litter box! We purchased out litter box three years ago and it has worked perfectly every day 365 days a year! Both of our cats are very choosy about their boxes and if the box is slightly dirty the cats wont use them. The Litter Robot keeps the litter clean keeping the cats happy and keeping me happy. With out two cats we have to empty the drawer once a week, they say you should empty it more but ours don’t need it. We recycle plastic grocery bags in the catch bin, they are a tad too small but work fine. I also enjoy the fact that our dogs can’t get into the litter box and help themselves to “the kitty buffet” no one likes kitty poo kisses! I would purchase another in a heart beat! The box seems expensive but for the convenience of not cleaning the litter box multiple times a day and the hardiness of the box I suggest it for every one.

My First Review

I have 3 cats and started to look into an automated cat box a few months ago. Most reviews were terrible so I kept looking. I found littler robot on a google search and read the reviews and decided to give it a chance with the 90 day free trial. Upon arrival the set up is very easy and the 3 cats took to it immediately. Everything Litter Robot promises deliveries above and beyond on both service and machinery. Here is why…the Litter Robot worked great for 30 days and then I had some issues the machine would get stuck…I called the 800 number and before I could ask they sent me a brand new one…the new one has been working with no problems…the entire process of sending it back was easy! Fedex comes and pick it up and I didn’t have to leave the house. The Robot Litter box has changed my life! I change the Kitty bag once a week add cat litter as needed and don’t spend any time holding my nose like I used to every day! I would highly reccomend the Litter Robot to anyone!! Worst case you get your money back best case you never spend time cleaning a cat box again! I also do continue to order the trash bags and cat litter from the website it works great!!!
This is my first review of any product because its the first time a product and company has gone above and beyond!

Caught the Puppy Using It!

I have had my litter robot for about 3 years now and my spouse and I agree it’s still one of the best investments we have ever made. We have long work hours and our two cats would “protest” a used litter box by going elsewhere – even if it had just been cleaned and they were the one who used it! No matter how diligent we were about scooping while home we would still be greeted with a mess when arriving home from work. Not only that but our dog was very attracted to munching on “kitty crunchies” which is just plain gross. We used to have to have the box up on a table, which created even more of a litter mess…. We debated getting rid of the cats due to the mess and smell. When we got the robot the cats were afraid of it, but we turned it off for a week and only ran it while comforting them to let them know it was ok. After a few weeks they didn’t even notice it working, it just became normal. Now I have the Litter Robot on the floor in my kitchen. There are no more “surprises” when I get home, my kitchen smells like fresh baked bread, cookies, or whatever else I’m cooking and not like litter! The “chore” of cleaning the cat box has been reduced to 5 minutes every sunday afternoon… It’s just a wonder. The best part though was the other night and is a story I have to share: a few months ago we got a small mixed breed puppy. She is always into everything and she climbed up into the litter robot, when I went over to see what she was up to I discovered she was using it! I guess she learned from watching the cats and decided to do that instead of going out in yet another snow storm!

I feel like I’m on vacation!

I was lucky enough to win an Eco-Friendly Litter-Robot in the recent Earth Day Contest, but if I had realized how wonderful the Litter-Robot is, I would have bought one long ago.  I have 4 cats, ranging in age from 1-17 years and in weight from 8-18 lbs., and have gone from having to scoop the litterbox (they all insisted on using the same one) 2-3 times per day to having to empty the Litter-Robot drawer 2-3 times per week!  I feel like I’m on vacation!  Within a week they were all using the Litter-Robot exclusively - they really love having a clean litterbox every single time they use it!  It works like a dream and really helps eliminate mess and odor.  I’ve tried other self-cleaning litterboxes and none work as well as the Litter-Robot.  Plus the Litter-Robot even looks cool, like a kitty space capsule.

It is really great!

I must say, I was a true believer with the first Litter-Maid I had, then went on to my second….but with two cats I was becoming frustrated at how often the “rake” would get clumped up and required major cleaning, having to make sure I did not get any of the electronics wet during the process.  It seemed to use more and more litter, until finally I came across a litter-robot at a garage sale.  I had looked at them on the inter-net, how ever the price I just could not afford.  Even at a garage sale, the price was more than I cared to pay, however, I went ahead and got it.  I am writing to say how wonderful your product is.  I have been telling everyone about it, and wish everyone with Kitty’s could afford one.  It is really great!  Thanks for such a great product.

Worked like a charm!

We were planning an extended trip, so needed help with our 2 cat household’s kitty box that had to be scooped twice per day. Your product is amazing. I had quite a time getting my older, larger cat to adapt, but patience persevered. I put his old litter box right beside the robot for a week, then covered it with a towel to simulate the covered robot for another week, then took away the old litter and put the towel over the litter robot and around the entrance. Worked like a charm! The towel just fell off when it rotated, and after that he went in without coaxing. Thanks for a remarkable product!

I’m still a very happy customer after two years with two kitties.

Thanks Folks,

I’m still a very happy customer after two years with two kitties.

I post occasionally at the Automatic Litterbox Central forum.

The reason I post there is because of my awe and admiration of the Litter Robot.

Your product still blows my mind with its elegance, simplicity and genius.

As a cat lover and poop scoop hater, you folks have changed my life in a very positive way.

Thanks again,

John

P.S. Here is my most recent post at ALC…..

Hello, I have been a happy LR2 owner for 2 years now. My 2 cats are doing great and so is my LR2. I did the math and I think I’m below 4 cents per scoop at this point. I will probably get a new globe at some point, but this has been one of the happiest purchases I have ever made. Once again I send my kudos to the folks at LR. As an inventor, I consider the LR2 to be a genius invention. Talk about a “labor saving” device. I highly recommend this to anybody who is tired of scooping kitty poop. watercat

This is by far the best litter box around!!

This is by far the best litter box around!! I HATE scooping and it was becoming a nasty chore, I did alot of research on this litter robot to make sure that it was worth all this money. I was not disappointed!! Putting it together was soo simple and my kitty CoCo took to it within the same hour. I put her in the litter robot an shifted the litter around and she mocked me and that was it!! It cuts down on the smell alot too so thats an added plus. If you are a little unsure about the price just do the 3 payment plan TRUST me its worth every penny!!

Loved and reviewed the LitterRobot – Aug 14, 2009

In 2003 I bought, loved and reviewed the LitterRobot. Over the years I’ve bought three others as gifts for cat-loving friends- who either hated to change the litter because they have asthma, or had multiple cats a (working) automated device would be a great help.

I’d have the units shipped to my house, so I could assemble, wrap and deliver them, as surprises. Because of this, I’ve also gotten to see the improvements over the years.

More than any other company that I’ve seen, LitterRobot lovingly invests money back into it’s product. The company clearly takes comments and suggestions from it’s users seriously, and I like that.

Last year I became a two-kitty household again myself, so I treated me to one this time. It’s surprisingly lighter and more compact, but still the same size on the inside. Or so it seems. I don’t know how they could do that, but that was my impression.

The still best-designed and most and reliable product just makes my life so much easier. And gives me more quality time with my cats!

Litter Robot Self Cleaning Litter Box gets press from Pawprintsthemagazine.com

The Litter-Robot

Reprinted from Pawprintsthemagazine.com

Who has an electric, automated, self-cleaning litter box (LitterMaid, etc.)? Raise your hand. Who wishes they had one, but would rather not spend a couple of hundred bucks on a litter box? Who has one and wishes they hadn’t spent a couple of hundred bucks on it? We can relate. We have one that sits unplugged and is now scooped just like a traditional, non-electric, non-self-cleaning, non-automated litter box. The rake that moved back and forth across the litter in order to sift out the clumps and leave clean litter behind seemed to always be clogged with the sticky combination of urine/feces and kitty litter causing the entire machine to jam.

I came upon Litter-Robot a while ago, by accident, on the Internet (as I do many products) and based on the differences, thought we should give it a try. What is the difference? Litter-Robot is round – sort of shaped like a globe. We call it “Kenny” because, to us, it looks like the so-named, hooded, parka-clad character on the animated series, “South Park” on Comedy Central. The cat enters the globe, does its business and leaves just like a traditional covered litter box. Litter-Robot has an electronic sensor that tells it cycle seven minutes after a cat leaves. It slowly rotates and the clean litter is sifted through a grid into a holding area below. The beauty of this system is that there is absolutely nothing on which the cat’s “clumps” may become stuck. The unit then rotates back and forth a few times dumping the clumps into the receptacle tray below, and finally the last rotation allows the clean litter back into the globe with the unit returned to its original “home” position. There are a series of three lights that let you know what the Litter-Robot is doing; the green “ready light” signals that it is ready for use again (not that your cat needs to learn those). There is a safety mechanism in place that prevents the Litter-Robot from operating when a cat is inside. The globe rotates so slowly; so slowly that I’m not sure there would be much of  a problem if the cat decided to re-enter the globe, but there is an additional safety feature in place that shuts off the motor automatically if that were to happen. It is impossible to imagine any cat that would climb into anything that is moving and making noise.

The receptacle needs to be lined, but one of the features of Litter-Robot is that there are no special liners to buy; ordinary kitchen garbage bags will do the trick.

No more scooping!! – July 29, 2009

I LOVE the litter robot. I was a little leary about the price. I did NOT want to spend this kind of money on something that didn’t work. Boy am I glad I tried it. It is AMAZING. My cat loved it right away! No more, scooping!!! MY only prob so far…my kitty kicks A LOT! This robot needs a floppy door so the litter stays in. I just ordered the lip and guard, i hope that works.
