What is the difference in the waste capacity drawer between the LR3 vs LR4?

The waste drawer has been completely redesigned. It is deeper, spreads more evenly and holds more waste.

What keeps the cat from digging and throwing all the sand out of the entry? My cat always digs a whole before going, and would be all over the floor.

A fence accessory will be included with each unit which helps prevent litter from being kicked out.

How did you clean the whole thing? We take our normal box out and scrub it down every month. I get that it scoops itself but I’m sure it still needs a deep clean now and again

The unit comes apart into four main components - the globe, the bonnet, the base and the drawer for easy cleaning. The globe, drawer and bonnet can be hosed off as there's no electronics. The base can be spot-cleaned using cleaning wipes.

My LR3 broke down after 12 months of usage due the well known DFI sensors failure, which I'm waiting to receive under warranty for almost a month now. Are DFI sensors used in the LR4 still the same? Has this very poorly designed technical solution from LR3 been completely reworked in order to make sure that it does not happen again?

Can the steps for previous models be used with the 4? Asking for my fat cat ????

They can not. A ramp accessory for the Litter-Robot 4 will be coming out later this year.

Will Pretty Litter work with the Litter Robot?

Litter beads and crystals that are small enough to pass through the screen (such as Pretty Litter) will work but we tend to find the best results from a high-quality clay clumping litter such as Litterbox.com www.litterbox.com/subscribe/litter.html

I’ve wanted one for years, but I’m worried that one of my cats has softer stool and it would just smear. (Gross, I know) Are there many returns From customers who have challenges with this?

As always, we recommend using a high quality clay clumping litter—especially if your cat is prone to diarrhea. From experience, more plant-based or low quality clumping litters tend to not form tight enough clumps around diarrhea. To increase the probability that your litter clumps tight enough, you can increase the amount of time (from 7 minutes to 15) between when your cat uses the Litter-Robot and a cleaning cycle begins. That usually does the trick!

Will the Litter robot 4 be available worldwide on July or is a delay to be expected? (I live in France).
