I have 2 big cats, close to 15lbs. each. Will there sizes hurt functioning of the machine & is it big enough for them.

Hi there, thanks for this question! Litter-Robot 4 does not have an upper weight limit. To give you a better idea of the inside of the globe, 15"-17" H (depending on litter level) x 19"W x 18" D.

Is the plug-in cord pretty long? I'd like to put it in the bathroom, and plugs are never nearby.. :)

The power cord for the Litter-Robot 4 measures 70 inches (177.8 cm).

Does the full shield just pop on the front opening?

Hi there! To install the shield, you simply just remove the fence (if installed), and start from the bottom to the top of the bezel. The top portion of the shield attaches to the inner top surface of the bezel using (2) upper attachment hooks. These hooks “grab” the inside rear edge of the bezel to hold it in place. Each hook has a small orientation tab that sits in a notch on the inside edge of the bezel. We hope this helps!

I will be getting a maine coon soon, the breeder said she expects him to be about 30 pounds. He will obviously be a big boy, will he be able to fit in the litter box?

Hi there! We do have many pet parents who have 25+ lb. cats that fit in the Litter-Robot with no issue. We do have a 90-day in-home trial, which usually gives you sufficient time to determine if the Litter-Robot will be a good fit for you and your furry pals.

How do you tell which cat has used the Robot4? My app says 1 cat has used it, but I don't see anywhere on app to see which cat.

Hi Jamie! First, you'll want to make sure you have a pet profile set up for each kitty. The SmartScale® system distinguishes between multiple cats by tracking their weight. If your cats are within 1 pound of each other, we will unfortunately not be able to distinguish between them. In this case, the SmartScale® feature will automatically turn off. Hi,
would it be okay to use Purina Tidy Cats Breeze Cat Litter pellets? Or even use it with the recommended clumping one until my cat gets use to new litter box?

Hi Angela, this is a great question. Pellet or Tofu Litter will not work in our units at this time. We tend to find the best results from an unscented, standard-weight clay clumping litter.

Can any type of litter be used for the litter robot?

Hi there! The best litter for Litter-Robot is clumping litter. We recommend a high-quality, standard-weight, clay-based clumping litter, such as our GreatLitter. Some silica gel litter beads and crystals can also be used with Litter-Robot, as long as they pass through the screen. However, translucent or white-colored litter (most often seen in crystal litter) may impact the litter level and Drawer Full Indicator (DFI) accuracy in Litter-Robot 4 and are therefore not recommended. Alternative, plant-based litters typically do not work with Litter-Robot as these may not be filtered properly through the sifting system. Litters that do not work in Litter-Robot are the strictly absorbent, non-clumping or loose-clumping litters, newspaper-based litters, and absorbent wood pellet litter. We hope this helps!

I have a very large Russian Blue cat. My question is this, has anyone bought 1 of your litter robots for a cat as large as a Savanna? He is about the same size as a Savanna.

Hi Tori! It can depend on the cat, but there are many 25+ lb cats using the Litter-Robot 3 and 4 comfortably.

Bonjour ! La meilleure litière pour Litter-Robot est la litière agglomérante. Nous recommandons une litière agglomérante à base d'argile de haute qualité et de poids standard. Certaines billes et certains cristaux de gel de silice peuvent également être utilisés avec Litter-Robot, à condition qu'ils passent à travers le tamis. Cependant, les litières translucides ou de couleur blanche (le plus souvent observées dans les litières en cristaux) peuvent avoir un impact sur le niveau de litière et la précision de l'indicateur de tiroir plein (DFI) dans le Litter-Robot 4 et ne sont donc pas recommandées. Les litières alternatives, à base de plantes, ne fonctionnent généralement pas avec le Litter-Robot car elles risquent de ne pas être filtrées correctement par le système de tamisage. Les litières qui ne fonctionnent pas avec Litter-Robot sont les litières strictement absorbantes, non agglomérantes ou peu agglomérantes, les litières à base de journaux et les litières absorbantes à base de granulés de bois.
