Hello! What is the width of the actual base, I see the total width is 22” but I’d like to see just the base width?

Can my 3 month old kitten use this

Litter-Robot 4 uses laser and weight sensor technology to detect your cat. Kittens should weigh at least 3 pounds before using Litter-Robot 4 in automatic mode. We recommend leaving Litter-Robot 4 off and only turning it on to run a clean cycle as needed until they weigh enough to reliably activate the SmartScale™.

How long is the power cord and where is it located? Does it run on a rechargeable battery w/ backup?

The cord is 70 inches long. It's located on the bottom of the unit in the back. There will be an optional backup battery accessory that you can purchase. The battery will last 24-48 hours depending on usage.

Can the liner be replaced like the LR3? If so it it the same kind of rubber material?

Hi Deana! Depending on when you purchased your LR3, the liner might be different. It used to be made from a flexible PVC material but we switched to TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) in October 2021. Litter-Robot 4 uses the TPE material. We will have replacement kits available for LR4 as well for once it's out of warranty.

Does the Litter Robot 4 have to be connected to WiFi for it to work? I live in a dorm and it is hard to set up smart home devices sometimes

No, the Litter Robot 4 does not require internet the app that is available requires internet for you to control the robot remotely.

what should I do with my currently modle if I upgrade the new one. Do yo have any trade in program?

How many disposable bags come with the initial purchase of the litter robot 4?

All units come with three waste drawer liners to get you started. After that, any 8-13 gallon size trash bag will work. Our liners are not required.

Can World's Best Cat litter be used with this. It is made from corn. My cat is allergic to clay litters. I've seen a few where it says clay litters are recommended but that unfortunately isnt an option for my fur baby

Yes, the unit works with most clumping litters.

What is the difference between the handle vs the step model? If I go with the step model how is the drawer opened?

The step provides a larger area/step up for kitties to enter and exit the unit. This would be better for older/smaller kitties or those with disabilities to help them. The handle does not come out as far so it'd be better for kitties who are agile and able to jump in and out of the unit easier. The step model still has a handle underneath where you can place your hand to pull the drawer the out though. These parts are interchangeable so if you purchase the handle and decide you want the step, you can purchase the step separately then change it out instead.
