One last quick question, I mix clumping wood litter in with my clay litter and it works GREAT in our normal litter box. However the wood litter specifically states it needs extra time to set compared to clay, can we have longer options for cycling than 15mins? I.e. an hour

Hi Mathew! A lot of our customers do mix different types of litter and it seems to do well so long as the litter sifts properly. That said, wood based litters typically do not work in the Litter-Robot as they normally do not fit through the sifting screen, causing it to dump into the waste drawer instead.

The Litter-Robot 4 does offer 2 additional wait time settings - 25 minutes and 30 minutes.

Does this litter robot have a liner similar to the 3 ? It doesn’t appear to have the kick guard. Our cats chewed on that on the 3rd generation.

The globe liner is made from TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). All Litter-Robot 4 units will come with a standard fence included to help prevent that!

So the LR4 comes with a 1 year warranty. If I purchase the extended 3 year warranty, will I get 4 years total of coverage? Like does the 3 year warranty kick in once the 1 year is up? Last question, when will the first orders for the LR4 start shipping? :) I honestly can’t wait anymore. My kitties are begging for their LR4. ????

The warranty is 3 years total from purchase to expiration. The unit comes with a 12-month warranty and the extended warranty would add 2 years, totaling 3. Units start shipping in July but if you order now, it will not ship out until August as we're shipping on a first-come, first serve basis.

Does the LR4 have bluetooth capability with the app? Can I use it without an internet connection? Will it lose any function without internet?

Yes, all of the Litter-Robot 4 units have Wi-Fi with the app. The unit will still cycle automatically after each use without the app being set up. If the internet goes out, the unit will still function as intended, you would only lose the app features such as notifications to your phone.

Can it technically be used for 5 cats?

Yes, you may just need to empty it a bit more frequently since the recommendation is 3-4 cats per unit.

Yes, it will! The LR3 and LR4 have a similar footprint.

So my question is after a cat poops does the timer begin once they leave the globe or is it once they step into it? Because I know the cycle time can be altered and ranges from 3 minutes to 15 minutes (am I correct with the specific times btw? ) My concern is if they poop and the cycle begins three minutes after they leave I’m concerned the odor will penetrate the room especially if they don’t cover up their poop. Thank you!.

Thanks for your inquiry, Sebastian. The timer starts once they exit the unit. Litter-Robot 4 has some additional timing options now so it will range from 3 minutes up to 30 minutes depending on the setting.
