  2. How do u clean it like the 3 I can take off the bonnet and put the bowl in the tub to clean how do u clean the 4
The unit comes apart into 4 sections: globe, bonnet, drawer and base. The globe, bonnet and drawer can be submerged/sprayed with a hose. The base would need to be spot cleaned (usually with wet wipes) as that is where all of the electronics are housed and they cannot get wet.

  3. Hello. I was wondering, on average, how often litter needs to be added to the machine? For instance, do I just add litter each time I empty the waste bin, or would it be more often than that? Thanks.
Thanks for your inquiry! It can depend on how many kitties you have and the type of litter you're using as some clump faster/harder than others which would use less overall.

Most customers are fine with adding a few scoops when they empty the drawer and that's it.

  4. I notice the globe is a rubber like material. My cats have all their claws. How durable is the liner?
Hi Daniel! The liner is made of a very durable TPE. It was designed with kitties in mind so it's able to withstand scratches. With that said, some kitties can use Litter-Robot in interesting ways. Some cats do like to chew or are very aggressive scratchers/diggers. The liner is covered under warranty so if something does happen, we can send a replacement liner.

  5. Is the space of the litter, the space the cat uses, smaller, the same, or larger than LR3? Not the opening, or the overall unit, but the actual width/length/diameter the litter takes up. My cat needs more space.
The litter bed is 14 inches in diameter, the same as the LR3.

  6. How will the cat recognition work?
Hi Michael. There will be additional hardware coming out to distinguish cats of similar size but for cats that vary in weight, the app will show how much the cat weighs so if they vary in weight such as 5 lbs vs 20 lbs, you would know which kitty was using it. The additional hardware that will be coming out will help with kitties who are similar like 5.5 vs 5.3 lbs. We do not have an estimated date at this time for this release.

  7. Do you need to use a pod for the odor pacs ? Or do you just place them where the carbon filter goes? Can you use the same carbon filter as L3 ? Are pacs better? What’s included?
Hi Dee! The pod is not necessary for the odor pack. The packs would be placed where the carbon filter is. The carbon filter area has been completely redesigned on the Litter-Robot 4 so the LR3 filters will not fit.

Here's instructions on how to replace the packs on the Litter-Robot 4:

    1. Press and hold the Cycle and Empty buttons on the control panel for 3 seconds, or tap “Replace Filter” under Controls in the app.
    2. A clean cycle will begin; the cycle will pause when the globe reaches the “replace filter” position.
    3. Open the bonnet: Press and hold the latches on both sides of the bonnet, then lift and rotate the bonnet to its open position to reveal the filter pocket.
    4. Open the filter cover and remove the carbon filter (if installed). Place 2 OdorTrap™ Packs under the filter cover and reinstall the cover. Under normal use, 2 packs should last approximately 1 month. (Note: OdorTrap™ Packs may shift as the globe rotates.)
    5. Close the bonnet: Rotate the bonnet downward over the globe and push down on the bonnet from the top to make sure it is latched and secure.
    6. Press the Cycle or Reset button to resume the clean cycle; when the clean cycle has ended, press the Reset button to zero the weight sensors.

  8. I have two larger cats and two smaller cats. The larger cats seem to not like the litter robot 3 due to space. Is the 4 larger inside compared to the 3?
The globe entryway is larger on the LR4 but the overall interior of the globe is a bit smaller.

    Litter-Robot 3 globe is 20" W x 20" D with an entryway of 16"H x 10.25"W.

    The Litter-Robot 4 globe is 19" W x 18" D with an entryway of 15.75" H x 15.75" W.

  9. Is the basin less rounded than the 3? We stopped using our 3 because our cat who pees heavily and sprays backwards towards the edge of the litter where it's thinnest, which made it muddy and smear. Eventually the deep cleanings just became too much, we had to switch to something with a squared edge so that litter deepness was uniform.
Hi Mathew! The globe is still round on the LR4. It's very similar to the LR3 globe.

  10. Can bunnies use the litter robot?
If they are litter box trained, they can be trained to use the Litter-Robot! We do have customers that use the Litter-Robot for other animals besides kitties.
