I’ve been researching automatic litter boxes for about two years and finally decided to try the Litter-Robot. My biggest concern was our large cat, who has some Maine Coon in him. Plus, he’s 13 years old—proving that you can teach an old cat new tric
ks! I worried he might not take to the box and that the size would be an issue since he’s a serious digger and tends to scatter litter everywhere.
One of the reasons I chose the Litter-Robot was its safety features. It has a weight sensor that detects when your cat is inside, so the cleaning cycle won’t start until the cat has safely exited. It also includes an automatic stop function if movement is detected during a cycle, which gave me peace of mind knowing my cat would never be at risk.
It took about a week for him to get comfortable with the Litter-Robot. We used treats to encourage him and placed him inside a few times. After a little over a week, he finally used it! Once he had a couple successful uses, we removed his old box, and now he happily uses the Litter-Robot every day.
Setup was simple and straightforward. Connecting to Wi-Fi through the app was easy, and I haven’t had any connectivity issues since. I also love the ability to monitor his weight. At 13 years old, tracking changes in weight and activity will be very helpful for his health.
If you are on the fence, just buy it already.

This is the most amazing product I've invested in. The bundle with the stairs was wonderful for my older cat who has arthritis. My other cat I'd consider to be skittish, and it took him less than a day to adjust to the movement. I also set it to wait
longer before it cycles so it would give him time to leave the area and not be startled by the sound (ALTHOUGH IT IS SO QUIET IN GENERAL OMG). I recommend a litter robot to everyone I know who owns cats. It's a game-changer.

We just got our second set of cats and decided to get a litter robot (upon the recommendation of their foster parent). Wow, it's such a difference having cats with this robot than when we had our first cats and had to hand scoop their litter for 17 y
ears! I think the product is really good and works perfectly (for a week anyway). I hope it lasts and I will try to experiment with more eco-friendly litter soon.

I had the litter robot three and this new model is much quieter. I only ever hear it because I can hear the litter tumbling inside. I like that it tracks my cats weight. My only issue so far is that when I put more litter inside it, it thinks that my
cats are lingering in it and delays the cycle until I hit reset or run a new cycle manually.

I was a little concerned that my 2 cats (6 months) wouldn't know how to use it because they have been using pine pellets since we got them. After setting it up, they were mostly playing in the new clay litter so I was afraid they wouldn't realize it
was a litter box, or think it was a play area and not use it. But to my surprise, an hour later, I saw one of them had. After that I left it on and they were in and out no problems. Didn't even take 12 hours for them to be using it as their litter box of choice. They are so smart.
I got the flap attachment (shield) as I was going to put it in my living room and I was concerned about smells. I have it installed without the flap, and unless its a fresh one, no smells once it cycles! Probably don't even need the shield, so I might take it off later as it does make it a little bit cramped to refill the litter with it on.
The only "issue" I've had so far is sometimes a pee clump gets stuck to the bottom and doesn't detach when cycling. In those cases, I let it dry up for a bit and then just nudge it with my old litter scoop mid cycle and it falls right off. This will usually trigger the auto stop detection, so it'll pause a bit before continuing to cycle (which also gives me peace of mind for how sensitive it is). For litter, Ive been Scoop Away from costco, so I'm not sure if this would happen with other litters.
