Litter-Robot EVO: Offline
If your Litter-Robot EVO has already been onboarded to the Whisker app but has lost connection, you may see a blinking yellow light on the Control Panel and an LCD message that reads “Disconnected.” This means the unit is no longer connected to your WiFi network and is attempting to reconnect.

Understanding the WiFi Disconnected state
- When your Litter-Robot EVO loses WiFi connection, the LED Indicator Light blinks yellow, and the LCD screen will display:
Disconnected
Reconnecting, check router, or update network in app. - You may also notice the unit automatically attempting to reconnect. If reconnection fails after a few minutes, you’ll need to manually restart the process.
Before you begin
- Make sure your WiFi network is working and that other devices can connect.
- Keep your phone nearby with bluetooth enabled and the Whisker app installed.
- Verify that your router is within range of the Litter-Robot EVO.
- If your router or modem was recently replaced or reset, you’ll need to re-enter your network credentials in the app.
Check your WiFi network
- Confirm your home WiFi is active and broadcasting.
- Ensure your network uses a 2.4 GHz band (Litter-Robot EVO does not support 5 GHz).
- Reboot your router if needed. Wait until your network is stable before continuing.
Reconnect your Litter-Robot EVO
- If the LED is blinking yellow and the LCD shows “Disconnected” the unit will automatically attempt to reconnect to your network.
- During this process, you’ll briefly see the message “Disconnected” on the LCD.
- The display will then update to “Reconnecting, check router or update network in app.”
- This indicates that the unit is actively trying to re-establish connection.
- Once reconnection is successful, the LED Indicator Light will turn solid white and the LCD will return to the normal Home screen.
- If the message continues looping for several minutes or the LED remains blinking yellow, move on to the next step to check your network settings or update WiFi credentials in the Whisker app.
Confirm successful reconnection
- Once the Litter-Robot reconnects successfully, the LED Indicator Light will return to solid white, and the LCD will display the normal Home screen.
- Send a manual Cycle command in the app to ensure communication is active.
- Tap your device → Controls → Cycle
Success: Your Litter-Robot 5 performs a cycle and returns to Home with a solid white light.
Unsuccessful: You will receive an “Offline” notification on the Whisker app screen. Continue to the next steps.
Update or change your network (if needed)
- If you recently changed your WiFi network name (SSID) or password, or replaced your router:
- Open the Whisker app.
- Tap your Litter-Robot EVO → Device Settings → Update Network.
- Follow the prompts to onboard the robot to the new network.
- Once onboarding is complete, confirm the LED shows solid white.
