Litter-Robot 5 & Pro: Offline
If your Litter-Robot 5 or Litter-Robot 5 Pro has already been onboarded to the Whisker app but has lost connection, you may see a blinking yellow light on the Control Panel and an LCD message that reads "Disconnected.” This means the unit is no longer connected to your WiFi network and is attempting to reconnect.
Quick links
Understanding the WiFi Disconnected state
- The LED Indicator Light blinks yellow.
- On Litter-Robot 5 Pro models, the camera LED light will also blink yellow.
- The LCD screen displays:
Disconnected
Reconnecting, check router, or update network in app. - The robot will automatically attempt to reconnect using the last saved network credentials. If reconnection fails after several minutes, manual reconnection may be required.
Before you begin
- Verify that your home WiFi network is active and stable.
- Confirm other devices can connect to the same network.
- Ensure your router is within range of the Litter-Robot.
- Keep your phone nearby with bluetooth enabled (does not apply to Litter-Robot 5 Pro models) and the Whisker app installed.
Note: If your router or WiFi credentials have changed, you’ll need to update them in the app.

- If you use both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, remember:

- Reboot your router if the signal seems unstable.
- Move the unit closer to the router during reconnection attempts.
Reconnect your Litter-Robot 5
When the unit displays Disconnected, the robot automatically begins a reconnect attempt.
- The LCD shows “Disconnected” for roughly 5 seconds.
- The screen then updates to “Reconnecting, check router or update network in app” for about 10 seconds while the robot attempts to re-establish connection.
- If reconnection succeeds, the LED Indicator Light turns solid white and the LCD returns to the Home screen.
- If the reconnect cycle repeats or the yellow blink persists, continue to the next section to verify network details or update WiFi settings through the Whisker app.
