Litter-Robot EVO: Deep cleaning guide
Regular deep cleaning helps keep your Litter-Robot EVO fresh and reliable for your cat. We recommend a basic wipe-down weekly, a globe cleaning every 1–3 months, and a deep cleaning at least every 3 months, depending on use. Here’s how to deep clean Litter-Robot EVO.

Before you start
Materials needed:
Whisker Cleaner Spray or Wipes (recommended) or soap and water
Disinfectant
Sponge, brush, or microfiber cloth
Vacuum or handheld vac for litter granules
Towels for drying
Reminders
Always power off and unplug the unit before cleaning.
Never submerge the base in water.
Do not use bleach or ammonia-based cleaners.
Cleaning the globe
- Long-press the Cycle button for 3 seconds to activate the Empty Cycle. The globe will rotate clockwise and dump all litter into the waste drawer.

- Sweep any leftover litter toward the waste port.

- Short-press Cycle again to return the globe to the Home position.

- Press Power to turn the unit off and unplug it.

- Remove any accessories.

Remove the bonnet
- Open the bonnet: Use the handles on both sides to lift and rotate the bonnet upward. Remove the bonnet completely and set it aside.

Remove the bezel
- Hold the globe with one hand and gently pull the bezel away until it snaps off. Set the bezel aside.

Remove the globe
- Hold the rib at the top of the globe entrance and lift the globe off the base.

- Place the globe on a flat surface nearby.

Remove the carbon filter
- On the underside of the globe, slide the carbon filter and cover out of place.

Wash the globe
- Using Whisker Cleaner Spray or Cleaner Wipes or mild soap and water. There are no electronic components in the globe that can be damaged by soap and water. If the globe has become extremely dirty, it can be soaked and cleaned with a water hose.
Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wet litter will clump and cause jams.
Optional quick clean
- Without removing the globe, you can manually rotate it by pressing the Cycle button once and then pressing Cycle again when the globe has rotated to the desired position.

From there, wipe the upper liner surface for a fast refresh.
Cleaning the waste drawer
Remove the drawer
- Slide the drawer out fully and remove the waste drawer liner.

- Wash and dry
Wash with mild soap and water. Dry completely.
Install a fresh liner
Use Whisker custom-fit liners or a white 10–13 gallon trash bag.
Wrap the edges over the rim of the drawer.
Smooth the bag flat against the sides and bottom so the Drawer Full Indicator (DFI) works correctly.
Slide the drawer back in.

Cleaning the base
Never submerge or spray the base directly.
Vacuum litter granules from around the seal strips and waste port.
Wipe the exterior and interior surfaces with a cloth dampened with disinfectant. Spray onto the cloth, not the base.
- Clean the DFI sensors above the drawer opening with a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth.

- Inspect the scale feet underneath the base to ensure there is no debris.
Reinstalling the globe and bonnet
- Reinstall the carbon filter or OdorTrap®
Slide the carbon filter or OdorTrap holder into place under the globe.
Ensure that the four tabs around the filter cover are secure in their corresponding slots.

- Reinstall the bezel
Align the rib on the globe with the groove on the bezel.

- Snap the bezel firmly into place (top, sides, and bottom).

- Install the globe
Hold the rib at the top of the globe entrance and lower the globe into the base.
- Keep the waste port oriented toward the top so the globe is near the Home position.

- Ensure the cylindrical end is properly seated under the retaining bracket at the rear of the base and that the gear is within the track.

- Install the bonnet
Align the rear tab of the bonnet with the hinge slot.

- Rotate downward until the handles on either side click into place.

- Plug in and power on the unit.

- Add litter up to the raised MAX fill line.

- Zero the SmartScale® by short-pressing Cancel while the unit is at the Home position.

- Run a test cycle by short-pressing Cycle.

Successful: The unit completes the cycle and returns Home with a solid white light.
