What is included in the box?The Connected Home Bundle ships in two boxes. One box includes the fully assembled Litter-Robot 4 (with step installed), along with a fence, carbon filter, power supply, three waste drawer liners, and a welcome kit. The other box includes the fully assembled Feeder-Robot, along with a plastic food bowl, power supply, and welcome kit.
Can I connect the app to Feeder-Robot and Litter-Robot?Yes. You will be able to onboard one or more WiFi-enabled Feeder-Robot units and Litter-Robot units to the Whisker app.
When will my Litter-Robot 4 ship? Will I receive my Feeder-Robot first?You may receive your Feeder-Robot several weeks before your Litter-Robot 4. All Litter-Robot 4 black units purchased 7/14/22 or later will ship 7-9 weeks from date of purchase. All Litter-Robot 4 white units purchased 7/14/22 or later will ship 5-7 weeks from date of purchase. You will receive email confirmation when your unit ships.
What is the WhiskerCare™ Extended Warranty?The WhiskerCare™ Extended Warranty is a comprehensive protection plan that covers your Litter-Robot and Feeder-Robot from top to bottom for 3 years. Our hassle-free plan covers accidental damage, power surges, mechanical and electrical breakdowns, and software support. You’ll have access to our dedicated US-based customer service and software experts. During your warranty period, we will resolve robot issues at no charge, including free shipping both ways. There are never deductibles or hidden fees.
Will my cat actually use Litter-Robot 4?Most likely. Many cats use Litter-Robot within several days to a week of setting it up. Those already familiar with a covered litter box may be quicker to investigate Litter-Robot 4. The trick is to ease your cat into transitioning to Litter-Robot. You can avoid startling your kitty by leaving Litter-Robot switched off until you notice your cat has used it. We recommend that you place Litter-Robot in the same location as the old litter box. You can leave the old litter box near Litter-Robot for a short time. Take a cup of litter from the old litter box and add it to the clean litter in Litter-Robot. The scent will be familiar, and your cat should be inclined to check it out. Learn more about acclimating your cat.
Can kittens use Litter-Robot 4?Yes. Litter-Robot 4 uses laser and weight sensor technology to detect when your cat enters and exits the globe, which triggers the countdown timer and cleaning cycle. The SmartScale™will not recognize kittens that weigh less than 3 lbs. Therefore, kittens that weigh less than 3 lbs can use Litter-Robot 4, but not in automatic mode. Until they weigh enough, we recommend using your Litter-Robot in "semi-automatic" mode to keep your kitten safe and relieve you from litter box scooping. For "semi-automatic" mode, leave Litter-Robot powered off or unplugged. When you see your kitten has used it, wait about 7 minutes for the waste to clump, then power it on. Litter-Robot will automatically perform a clean cycle. Afterward, power it off again. Continue this supervised, semi-automatic mode until your kittens have gained sufficient weight to activate the SmartScale™.
Does Litter-Robot 4 have a weight limit?No, Litter-Robot 4 does not have a weight limit. With entryway dimensions of 15.75"H x 15.75"W and interior globe dimensions of 15"-17"H (depending on litter level) x 19"W x 18"D, almost any domestic cat can fit comfortably inside the globe.
Does Litter-Robot require special litter?No, Litter-Robot 4 does not require special litter. Litter-Robot works well with almost any clumping or scoopable litter. Litter beads and crystals that are small enough to pass through the screen will also work. Litter-Robot is not compatible with litters that are strictly absorbent, non-clumping, loose-clumping, newspaper-based, or wood-based pellets. We suggest all-natural premium cat litter for Litter-Robot.
Will Litter-Robot 4 eliminate litter box odors?Litter-Robot 4 features an optional OdorTrap™ System designed to neutralize litter box odors. This system uses the combination of a sealed waste drawer and carbon filter to reduce odor. You can opt to replace the carbon filter with OdorTrap™ Packs to eliminate litter box odors through natural chemistry. Most users suggest that Litter-Robot drastically reduces and or even eliminates litter box odors.
Can I use the app with both iOS and Android?
Will the robots connect to my WiFi network?Our robots require a 2.4 GHz WiFi signal. (5 GHz band not supported.) Feeder-Robot requires IPv4 addressing, and is unable to connect to shared networks (apartment complexes, college dorms, etc.). Litter-Robot 4 supports either IPv4 or IPv6 addressing.
How much food does Feeder-Robot hold and dispense?Without the hopper insert, Feeder-Robot holds up to 32 cups of dry kibble. With the hopper insert, it holds up to 25 cups of dry kibble. With the pre-installed dispenser, Feeder-Robot dispenses up to 1/2 cup of pet food in 1/8-cup increments, 1 to 8 times per day.
What type of food can Feeder-Robot dispense?You can use any dry or semi-moist cat or dog kibble.
What if Feeder-Robot goes offline? Will it still feed my pet?Yes. If you use the Whisker app to set your pet's feeding schedule, you can rest assured that your pet will still be fed should the unit go offline. Feeder-Robot saves the feeding schedule locally on the unit. Whether the unit is connected to the network or offline, once it has a schedule programmed to it via the control panel keypad or downloaded to it from the app, Feeder-Robot will continue to feed on that specific schedule until it is updated. If the Status Indicator Tower light is blue, then the unit is running a programmed schedule.
Is a backup battery included?The Feeder-Robot 12V Backup Battery is not included, but sold separately. If you purchase the Feeder-Robot Backup Battery, you will need to install the battery using the guide provided on our website.
Should I schedule my pet's meals or use gravity mode?Deciding how to use Feeder-Robot depends on your pet’s eating habits. If your pet has a habit of overeating or eating very quickly, you may wish to schedule their meals. By scheduling the feeding time, your pet will be eating a measured meal portion, 1 to 8 times a day. If your pet has no issue with overeating and tends to “graze” throughout the day, you may wish to use gravity mode. In gravity mode, the Feeder-Robot bowl remains full based on a check every 6 hours.
What if I want to keep one robot and return the other?Buy with confidence knowing that your investment is backed by our 90-day in-home trial. If you or your pet are not satisfied with one (or both) of your robot appliances, simply return it for a refund of the purchase price. You only have to pay return shipping. If you buy the Connected Home Bundle and wish to return one of the robots, please also note that your total refund will reflect the built-in discount on the bundle. For example, if the bundle is discounted $30, you will receive a refund of the returned robot appliance price, less $15.
